My DH and I are pursuing an ideal lifestyle. We spent the summer of 2008 as caretakers for the Seguin Island and Lighthouse off the coast of Maine. Winter 2008, we lived on Fire Island when almost noone else was there and had to walk or ride bikes 2 miles each way to get to our car. The summers of 2009 and 2010, we were at a lighthouse offshore near Salem, MA. Now September 2010, we are back at Seguin as the first fall caretakers and it is wonderful to be back. In winter 2010, it’s off to Deal Island, Tasmania!! Five lighthouse homes in four years, I never would have imagined it. In between our island sojourns, we cruised the northeast on our 32 foot catamaran, Water Lily and spend the coldest months in our new home in the Adirondacks. I am a proud mother of 2 + 2; a semi-retired physician, acupuncturist, avid knitter, spinster and photographer. On Ravelry I am known as One2KnitFar.

Thanks for a great time. Fun looking through the pictures and seeing that crazy black cat antagonizing the deer. Thanks again.

We were liveaboards for 3 1/2 years and it was wonderful. We had two sons with us – 18 months and 3 yrs when we left – and that certainly made us see the wonders of nature through different eyes!
tasmania ! I know it well! I have a crazy friend there!
Wondering where “DH” comes from?
Thanks for sharing your adventures – hope Joe and I can arrange a time to visit soon.
That;s my designated hitter or in blogspeak, darling husband, Tim.

You certainly live an interesting life. I would have never thought when I first meet you that I could keep up with world traveling by just reading your blog. Love the stuff about Seguin!
Thanks Chuck. Who knew? We’ve been back to Seguin a couple of times in the early fall. It is a special place. Maybe we’ll see you again there…or elsewhere. Hi to Elyse.
